Tandem Trailers vs. Single Axle Trailers

When compared to a single-axle trailer, a tandem-axle trailer travels down the road in a straight line more easily. Tandem-axle trailers also absorb more shock, so they produces less bounce, which keeps your cargo more secure. Additionally, the second axle makes the trailer more stable, durable and strong.

Tandem trailers are designed to be able to carry a larger ATM than comparable single axle trailers, and can carry loads up to 3000kg. They are typically used in tradesman trailers and car trailers for this reason.

As a standard feature we build our tandem trailers with full box chassis rails & cross members, as well as full tie rails and LED lights. The drawbars on our tandem axle trailers are extended to the spring hangers with a centre beam for bracing. Plus, all of the panels used on our tandem trailers are zinc anneal coated to help prevent corrosion, extending the lifetime of the trailer.
